Children should complete at least 10 minutes of home reading every evening. This can be either a ‘school reader’ or the ‘poem folder’ brought home in the book bag.
The Reading Log is to be signed daily by parents.
Children will have ‘alphabet’ or ‘sight words’ to learn, related to their reading level.
Maths
Children will have a sheet in their Learning @ Home book to practise their Number Knowledge. This may include number identification, counting forwards or backwards, before and after numbers or basic facts.
Digital Activities
Children should be working on Reading Eggs for 15 minutes three times per week. They can work on the following activities on Reading Eggs
Children who do not have internet access at home will be able to use the class laptops in the morning between 8.30am – 8.55am.
Children could also participate in some of the following activities as part of a wider ‘Learning @ Home’ focus:

Children who are non-BYOD are able to sign into their Google Classroom on any device at home.
Children should read for a sustained period of 30 minutes each day. Some children may choose to read for longer, depending on their choice of reading material and their reading age. It is important that children are given space and time to read quietly. This can be any reading material e.g. library books, magazines, graphic novels, books on Reading Eggs/Reading Eggspress etc.
Children should also complete a minimum of 1 lesson in their Comprehension Gym and 1 lesson in the Library on their Reading Eggs/Reading Eggspress account per week. They may also choose to use the selection of vocabulary and spelling games and activities.
Children should achieve at least 1000 points on Mathletics within a week. They should be completing curriculum activities before going onto “Live Mathletics”. When appropriate to their learning programme in class, teachers will assign specific tasks for students to complete at home. This will prevent them from doing other activities on Mathletics until these tasks are completed.
Children will share their learning with their family on Dojo
